March 2010 birthdays

Some of the cakes I made in March but I was too lazy to upload. It's very tiring this few weeks, thank God, most customers came back with wonderful feedbacks. Tq.

Handbag cake

My first fondant handbag, it's for a friend who's been my friend for many2 years, have a wonderful celebration with loved ones!

Today is not a happy day for me, but cakes make me happy, and this one does. Oh what the heck, it's a hard life and I'm tired. I'm glad my friend loves the cake, it's my job to make my customers happy. Unfortunately it's been my job to make everyone around me happy without realizing my emotion is running dry and sometimes it's just too much to swallow. My heart physically feels pain but eyy I'm sure in one way or another, each one of us suffers in a different way. I thank my best buddy for being there for me today, it would've been harder without you.

I must say sorry for the owner of this cake for not putting her daughter's name at the cake. The instruction wasn't clear to me and I should have asked. I hope she likes the cake anyway.

Heart-shape cake

To our beloved Suraya, we are going to celebrate her bday tomorrow, it was supposed to be today but the Mobility van is not available so postponed to tomorrow. I've already cooked spaghetti sauce and this cake is for her. I guess it will end up in the fridge first. To Sue, we pray for her recovery and hope for a miracle that one day she'll say hello to us again.

Jimbo cupcakes for a birthday at Gymboree, looking at the clown reminds me how time-consuming it is to make a figurine like this. I understand now why cakes with figurines are soooooo expensive when u see them at the shops, every little part needs to be done carefully and delicately.

March 2010 Weddings & Gifts

It's school holiday and my job begins! Everyone gets married and I get to do the cakes. This one took a long time to decorate, not because it's difficult (bukan kacang tanah, hee..), but because after wrapping the cake with fondant, I didn't know what to do with it. I decided to go to sleep and hoped I'd get a dream of how to decorate the cake and it worked. I woke up at 4 o'clock in the morning and the idea came pouring like heavy rain. This one is for my twins kindie teacher. A very nice girl who chooses pink and purple theme for her wedding. Congratulations Nadia, wishing you happily eva afta! :-)

A simple cake for a special wedding. Daniel and Molee, I'm so happy to be part of the occasion. The wedding reception went well. I saw most our nebors there, good time for catch up session. Molee looked gorgeous in her white dress and Daniel surely a proud man for the day. Congratulations Daniel and Molee. Here's to greener, cleaner and fresher side of the leaf ;-)

February Birthday cakes

I'm so happy that somebody like the girl-version of this cake and ordered one for her son. She asked for choc cake, but oh my, I didnt know doing the blocks for choc cake is so much much harder, it's because pieces from the choc cake will stick to the fondant and it's impossible to clean, this will be the last time I do choc cake for the blocks, after this only buttercake I can offer. I hope the owner of this cake is happy with the cake inside out. Thank you for the order.

I'm sure many little girls are big fans of Ariel. This girl Qistina is a very cute girl, I will put up her photo later. Hopefully her mum will send me ASAP. I finally get to do a disney character sitting on top of a rock. The one that interests me the most is tinkerbell. Hopefully there'll be customer asking for tinkerbell next time around.

These two cupcakes are for Chinese New Year gift. I quite like the red, it's nice sometimes to see bright colours on my cuppies.

I get this order from a customer asking specifically for green theme. I hope they are ok with my design.
